It's all too easy for ad spend to spiral out of control: one minute you're monitoring performance, and the next, your budget is blown.

Let's create a rule that monitors your ad account's spend in real-time and automatically pauses all active campaigns when today's spend is above the threshold.

Step 1. Filters

Apply the rule to the Campaign level and add a filter Campaign status is active

Step 2: Pause task

Add a Pause task and a Spend-based condition so that the rule will check the Today’s Spend, define the amount.

Step 3: Change the metric level

Change the metric’s level into ad account so that the rule will take into account the spend of the entire account, not just specific campaign.

And that’s it, you’re done:

The rule will pause all active campaigns if the spend of the ad account overall goes over $100.
