Automation can significantly enhance the efficiency of marketing campaigns, and in Revealbot you can tailor automated rules based on a range of standard events, as well as dynamic external factors such as weather conditions, odd/even days, and national holidays.
โ
In this guide, we will demonstrate how to set up an automated rule that restarts campaigns based on the weather conditions. Please note that the action and the conditions can be adjusted to your specific business needs ๐๐ผ
Step 1. Create a Google Sheet
Create a Google Sheet that where you update the weather conditions, or any other external factor. Whatever the factor is, you will need to use numbers as a code to indicate different states. In the example with weather, you can use 1 for "rain" and 0 for "no rain". Similarly, you can set up a rule with 1 for "odd day" and 0 for "even day" etc.
Essentially, you need just one cell where you will update the code each day if the weather changes, in my sheet below it is B2:
Step 2. Create a custom metric
To create a custom metric based on this Google Sheet in Revealbot, use Single value option:
and configure the rule to pull data from the cell B2:
โ
Basically, the system will pull the value from this cell during each check of the rule.

Step 3. Use the custom metric in a rule:
Finally, you can set up your automation based on the factors encoded in your sheet. In my example below, the rule will start the specified campaigns if the weather is rainy (code = 1):
โThe possibilities of this setup are pretty wide - you can choose to start, pause, change budgets, duplicate campaigns etc, based on any factors of your choice.
